This morning, I was doing my normal routine which includes taking out the kitchen trash. I took the bag out of the can and set it on the floor for a moment to tie the top. As I did, I heard a very familiar clinking sound … familiar to me when I unload the dishwasher. Hmmmmm ... what was that? I fished down to the bottom of the bag (my hands among last night’s dinner and yesterday morning’s coffee grinds) and found my beloved silverware gleaming at me to be saved from their fate of being chucked into the bottomless garbage chute. Lauren strikes again!
So, I spent this morning rummaging through my stinky garbage trying to salvage silverware that my sweet little daughter so creatively tried to dispose of. Ahhhhhhh, what a beautiful morning. Can you smell that fragrant trash? I can.

Last week Martin said, "I think Libby threw away her shoe." (We have a lock on the kitchen trash, but we've been lazy about keeping it on since she seems to have lost interest in the trash recently.) So he dug in (yum) and did indeed find something ... her monitor. FYI: Her shoe was recovered elsewhere.
I have also salvaged my car keys from her diaper pail upon noticing them clinking in the bag while taking it to the trash.
I wonder what we've thrown away in these past few months??
A few of years ago, at Ryan's Christmas party, we had one of those funny give and take gift exchanges. Well, I ended up with Bungee Cords. What the hell was I gonna do with those???? Man, I was ticked.
Enter baby Russell. Watch baby Russell learn to walk and get into things....Oh how cute! he's gotten into the trash can that has no lock.
Man, what a great gift those Bungee cords are....have I mentioned how handy they are and how happy I am to have them?
