Kauai Adventure

Today is Day 5 here on the lovely island of Kauai. Lorraine and I arrived here last Thu night and have been keeping pretty busy. We're staying at the Princeville Resort, which is located at the north end of this round island (12 o'clock position) - click on map to enlarge:

Day 1 - Thu
We left on a direct flight from LAX and started to miss our li'l Lauren immediately. Feeling comforted, however, knowing that she's being well-taken care of by Grandma and Grandpa Goias, who flew in from Ohio a few days prior to our departure. After picking up our rental car, we finally checked in around 9pm.

Day 2- Fri
We woke up the next morning with this view out of our window:

A little overcast with "vog", volcanic fog, but, nevertheless, beautiful. I went to go play an early round of golf at the Makai course while Lorraine continued to unwind in our room. One of the ocean holes required a tee shot across this ravine:

After my golf, we took a drive down the road to visit the Kilauea Lighthouse (1 o'clock on the island map):

The Babe:

Day 3 - Sat
Another early morning for me to play golf at the other resort course, Prince Course. Fab ocean holes - this one was a long par-3 over the water (on the green in one - ball on left edge of picture):

Going out to dinner later that night:

The Hanalei Valley (about 11 o'clock on the map):

Day 4 - Sun
Drove 2 1/2 hours to Waimea Canyon State Park, similar to the "Grand Canyon" (about 9 o'clock on the map):

Then took a hike along the canyon:

On the way home, we stopped by the Kauai Coffee Company to drink and buy some excellent java:

Pickin' coffee beans:

Day 5 - Mon
We left early this morning for Poipu Bay (6 o'clock on the map) for a round of golf at the Poipu Bay Golf Course. Lorraine drove the cart as I tried to follow in Tiger's winning footsteps on this course. It was a day well spent - excellent ocean holes and some great golf with my lovely "caddie":

We're going to spend the next remaining two days relaxing and hanging out at the resort. We can't wait to see Lauren in a couple of days as we miss her dreadfully. We will leave here with amazingly beautiful memories, such as these sunsets through our window...

It looks so BEAUTIFUL! I'm so glad you two are having fun out there, Lorraine looks especially excited in the golf cart. And it's just like Henry to work on his vacation what with picking fresh coffee beans for his sister and law and cleaning up the dead branches in the mountains. Dude, put down the tree and get back to the beans! And Mom...I mean, Lorraine...you hair looks really great short! I love you'z!

P.S. Don't worry about Lauren...she doesn't miss you at all. She probably doesn't even remember you, so relax and have fun. Ha ha oh i'm so funny.
