Lauren is loving preschool. She loves everything about it --- the learning, the socialization, the teacher, the routine. She is breaking out the Spanish constantly. So cute! Her teacher says she is a fast learner, a great reader, and a supportive classmate (always cheering on her fellow students).
2. Reading
By far, reading is Lauren’s favorite thing. She reads on her own, she reads to us, she reads to whoever will listen. I thought I would be reading to my daughter at night before she went to bed. The joke is on me. Instead, she reads to me. She loves books. She takes after her father in that way.
3. Music
Lauren is learning a lot about classical music at school. She recently said to me, “Listen, Mommy. It’s Beethoven.” I guess preschool is paying off. But don’t think she’s got posh taste. In the car, her favorite music to listen to are the likes of Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Macy Gray, and Radiohead (now, that’s my girl!!!). On the way home from school today, she said "Radiohead, please, Mommy." So very funny!
4. Big Girl Bed
Lauren has moved into one and is so proud of herself. It reminds me that the simplest milestones to us are a massive accomplishment to toddlers. Daddy painted her room pink and she’s stylin’ with all types of girly furnishings!
5. Coming into her own
Getting to know Lauren at this age is an amazing journey. There is always something new to learn about her. She’s silly, sensitive, smart, cuddly, loving, tough, sporty, artsy, observant, stubborn, and the list can go on and on.
