I, being the nervous new mother that I am, was a bit nervous for Lauren as I wasn’t sure how she would respond to me not being around since we are rarely separated from one another. It took less than a blink of an eye to see that Monica is IN and Mommy is OUT.
When Monica walks through the door, Lauren runs straight to her (and right past me!) to greet her with a big hug. She can even say Monica’s name … it comes out “Mon-ca” but, hey, that’s not bad for our 16-month old baby girl! And please note that this is coming from our little sweetie who doesn’t even say “Daddy” yet (Monica – 1, Henry – 0).
My point: Lauren loves Monica. We all love Monica! Even my mother says “Thank God for Monica” as it has taken Henry and I all of 16 months to feel comfortable with someone other than family to watch our little bean. We’re not freaks, mind you, just new parents (sigh).
Now, when Lauren gets mad at us because we won’t let her do something and shows us attitude, our response to her is “Well, why don’t you just go over to Monica’s then?” In all seriousness, we are delighted that Lauren looks forward to her visits with Monica, Henry and I are so blessed to meet someone that cares for and loves our little girl, and I thoroughly enjoy making a new friend here. Thank you, Monica!

Yeah!!So happy you put up the "help wanted" sign! Oh, no, I won't tell you that "I told you so" because that would be just wrong! I hope that Monica never leaves. This is a wonderful experience for the both of them.xxoo
